The best teachers are those who  show you where to look, but don't tell you what to see.

About

I am so excited to embark on this journey of innovative learning with my students this year. I strive to incorporate educational opportunities that are different from the ‘traditional’ classroom in order for kids to think flexibly and be able to adapt in this ever-changing world. I take pride in 'thinking outside the box' and I love to blend fun, hands-on, engaging activities with a variety of delivery methods in an effort to ignite a spark in each of my students.

I am a graduate of Texas State University (was Southwest Texas then) and I am proud to say I have been teaching in Round Rock ISD for 14 years. This will be my 12th year as a teacher at Grisham and I absolutely LOVE what I do. I feel privileged to be working with such wonderful students at an awesome IB World middle school.

I am married to a very kind and compassionate man, and together, we have four children- one in high school, two in elementary, and a precious new baby. My husband and I grew up in the same city, went to the same college, and even share the exact same birthday. He is a deputy sheriff and we are both committed to working and volunteering in our community.

Disclaimer- Just in case you're wondering, no, I do not look like the photo above in real life. I enjoy being goofy and eagerly await any event where I can show my school spirit and sense of community among faculty and students. For years my students have awaited the grand reveal of my ‘alter ego’ to appear in the GMS yearbook. Of course, I always accept student fashion tips and guidance when selecting my special outfit each year.
